Last Day of Summer Vacation

Well, yesterday was our last day of summer vacation.  It is hard for me to believe that we are starting school so early this year and if you ask me I think it is ridiculous.  We have had 30 something days of temperatures over 100 degrees and there is no end in sight.  It has been years months since we have had significant rainfall and everything is dying.  Anyway...back to the point...I think it is unwise to put children on un-airconditioned buses, in classrooms where the window units are croaking, and outside for recess where someone is liable to have a heatstroke!   My opinion doesn't really matter so my children went back to school today and we did celebrate our last day of summer vacay in a unique way! 

My family was invited to come ride a combine while harvesting soybeans and that is just what we did!
